Hi Scott ~ thanks for referencing these fine books. Congratulations on your graduation (only 15 out of the original 54) from Founders Institute.

Joey -

Sorry you had to endure something like this. It's sad to hear that people can be that lost.

Your post reminded me of 3 relevant books that would teach people not to think like your former colleague. First, the great Dale Carnegie book "How To Win Friends and Influence People" is everyone's cornerstone for knowing how to build relationships. Second, Keith Ferrazzi's "Never Eat Alone", which is practically a post-2000 revision to Carnegie, illustrates exactly the approach you recommend. People LIKE to help their colleagues but prefer it when the relationship is warm. Third, Scott Stratten's "Unmarketing" is the Twitter/Facebook/Blog approach to building the best modern business relationships. Stratten really outlines the modern rules of engagement in simple terms.

On an unrelated matter, thanks for your great work at LA Founder Institute. Now can you refer my company to your best clients? ;)

See you soon!
